In this module, we'll cover some basics, from learning the different ways to get your photos in Photoshop, and ensuring you are using the right settings for color management.

- How to get your images into the program, either from Lightroom Classic (and how to take it back again!) or directly into Photoshop.
- The two editing step you must make to your RAW files before taking them into Photoshop.
- How to save your all important layers, so you can go back and tweak your edits at any time!
Module Two: Getting To Know Your Workspace
Let's get you set up for success in Photoshop, by getting our workspace set up for the right way for photographers.
- Get your workspace set up the right way, and make sure you have essential tools and panels showing.
- Get a tour of the workspace so can see where everything is located.
- Understand what to do if you accidentally lose an important panel or tool.
- How to check your color space settings and make sure they are correct (without this, your images can look truly terrible!)

Will I learn everything there is to know about Photoshop?
NO! This is intended to be an entry level course, aimed at new Photoshop users, to give them the basics of working with layers, layer masks and tools. Our advanced next level course Photoshop Magic, will take you even further along your journey to using Photoshop like a pro, so if you are interested in continuing your Photoshop education, be sure to grab that too! However, please note that there are so many ways to do things in Photoshop that even with both programs, we can't cover everything - but you will learn everything you need :-)
What's the difference between this course & Photoshop Magic?
Photoshop Fundamentals was created to teach you the fundamental principles of working in Photoshop, whereas Photoshop Magic teaches you the editing techniques that will add a little extra magic to your photos!
If you are already comfortable using layers, layer masks, selecting areas of the scene, and understand how to use pixel layers in your workflow, then you can skip right onto Photoshop Magic,, where you'll learn techniques like cloning, retouching, swapping skies, adding textures and overlay, using fill layer (a.k.a. all the ways you can sprinkle magic dust over your photos!)
But if you aren't yet comfortable in Photoshop, take this course first, which gives you the foundation you need to take Photoshop Magic.
How long will it take to finish the course?
This depends! You can watch all the videos in around 3 1/2 hours, but of course, I strongly recommend that you take the time to practise each of the concepts with our homework. If you give yourself a couple of weeks then you will complete the program with ease. Just remember that you have ongoing access to the program which means you can take as much time as you need to complete the course. There’s absolutely no fixed schedule, time limit or deadline.

Can I take this course if I use Photoshop Elements instead of Photoshop?
Although you have a lot of the same editing tools in Photoshop Elements that you have in Photoshop, it's not exactly the same. So although around 80% of it will be applicable, some of it (unfortunately!) will not be!
