MY CAMERA & LENSES
One of the questions I get most often is which camera and lenses I use! Youβll see Iβm a prime girl (lenses that have a fixed focal length) all the way, because theyβre incredibly sharp and allow me to get that beautiful bokeh. I also feel because you have to physically move around with a prime, youβre always find new perspectives and angles! Check out the lenses I have in my camera bag below - the buttons take you to more info about that lens on Amazon.
MY OTHER RANDOM
TOOLS & ACCESSORIES
I use my Expodisc to set a custom white balance because it saves me so much time in editing! Although the brand of memory card isnβt important to me, I want to make sure I have one that is βfastβ enough to write quickly so I donβt have to wait for the camera to catch up when taking action shots! My reflector and speedlight donβt often see the light of day, but they are handy for getting the light right in certain situationsβ¦.
THE SOFTWARE I CANβT LIVE WITHOUT FOR
PHOTO EDITING
The Photography Plan from Adobe contains ALL the photography software you will ever need (and for a steal price of just $10 a month!). I use Lightroom Classic as my main βhubβ for culling, managing and sharing my photos, and itβs where I do about 95% of my edits. I then take some into Photoshop for advanced editing / pixel adjustments. If youβre just getting started with Lightroom Classic, grab our Lightroom Starter Kit, and when youβre ready to get more advanced, check out our free training!! Youβll find all the links below.

Tools for New Photographers
Wondering what you need to get started in photography? After you have chosen your DSLR or mirrorless camera, I would suggest that you upgrade from the kit lens that came with your camera, and get something like the 50mm f1.8 lens. This is the almost universal upgrade lens, because they are quick to focus, open up to a nice wide aperture to let in lots of light (great for low light scenes) and give you nice background blur. Plus they are (relatively!) inexpensive. Apart from tha, all youβll need is a memory card, and ideally, a white balance tool - a cheap and cheerful grey card does the job perfectly! Just click on the buttons below to find out more about each one on Amazon.
