How to take beautiful photos of people, outdoors, in natural light.
Master the art of photographing outdoors with a toolkit of lighting strategies you can use to work the light around you with confidence - even in harsh sun or on dull overcast days!
Great light is the difference between flat snapshots and pro-level photos, yet many photographers struggle with the light, especially when shooting outdoors.
This practical video course walks you, step by step, through specific natural light set ups, along with the exact tweaks to make, so you know exactly where to place your subject for flattering light and more magical photos, whatever the weather!
Do you struggle when it comes to knowing where to place your subject for the best light?
👉 You love shooting outdoors, but get stuck when it comes to where to have your subject (and end up with squinty eyes, hotspots or boring photos)
👉 You feel nervous shooting on sunny days, because you’ve no idea how to make it work for you!
👉 You don’t want to always have to shoot in the golden hour for great photos - it’s just not practical (life doesn’t always happen at 6am or in perfect light!)
👉 You know that the whole dark eye sockets, unflattering shadows and shiny skin thing isn’t flattering….but how on earth do you change it??
👉 Your photos just don’t have that magical look that you see from other photographers - maybe they just have better light in their part of the world??
👉 You relying on cloudy days because any other type of light scares you….but your photos seem kinda boring and uncreative!
What if you had a little toolkit of lighting strategies you could use for ALL types of weather?
The good news is, light behaves in a predictable way - which means there are specific techniques you can use for each type of light that will give you consistently great results AND more magical photos!
Sun to Shade gives you those techniques, broken down step by step with lighting diagrams and exact placements and tweaks, so that you have repeatable solutions for all types of light that you can dive into and use immediately!
And yes, they work regardless of location too.
So whether you're photographing in your back garden, at the beach, local park, in a field or in an urban setting, you can use these techniques!
(and yes, whether you’re photographing portraits or documentary style photos too!)
“Understanding where to place my subjects, being able to use my reflector properly (I was too intimidated before) and mastering backlight has made such a difference to my photos. HIGHLY recommend this course!”
Misty
“Before this course I was struggling with taking pictures in full sun, and this course has definitely helped with that! I’m hardly ever taking pictures in “perfect” light (I’m more of a lifestyle photographer) but I now feel so much more comfortable & confident that I can work with whatever's available”
Denise
“I’m now so much more confident in my photography skills, and in my ability to see and use light....seeing the difference it can make was eye-opening! I loved it so much I’ve already recommended it to a friend”
Martha
